I'm very aware that the situation is different than Iraq, but it also cannot be ignored. In the past few days, North Korea has been openly defiant and truly needs to be stopped. What good would a draft be if all it would do is put people unable to handle going to war in charge of fighting it? If this country goes to war, there are plenty of people who will volunteer to go off and fight, there is no reason to pick people out of their homes who are not mentally or physically able to handle the brutalities of war, because that will not help us win it.

The only thing this war, or lingering talks of said war is doing is doing is it's keeping the state of the economy in limbo, especially the prospect of war without an actual war. The quicker the war either A.) happens, or B.) is dropped as a possibility, the sooner this country will get back on it's feet as far as this shitball economy goes. Then again, I could just be talking out of my ass - I have been told on at least a few occasions that I do that from time to time ;-)
