:loveya: aren't you two cute

so how many levels are there? red orange yellow?
Five. Blue and green are the lowest.
The whole point is we have technically been on high alert ever since 9/11. The rest of the country went down to yellow which is below orange but NY has always been at orange. It's just that now the whole country has gone up to orange now. So technically we should be at red, I would guess.

The whole point is that anyone could tell you there is a chance, there is a chance every single day with or without a color system. It's pointless because saying "we don't know where, we don't know when" How does that help? It only causes more tension and panic with people.

So when an attack happens they can say "well we warned you, something was gonna happen."

That's like people who play the same numbers every week in the lotto. Yes eventually your numbers will hit but it's only cause of the law of probabilities, not because you predicted they would, you didn't know when but you knew eventually.
i agree, this is bullshit. if anything, it helps the terrorists out.

what better time to attack than when we least expect it? so they'll wait until we are at a low level of alert and then pop us.
The terrorists could care less about our color schemes. They are probably all sitting around eating curry, smelling of shit, realigning the humps on their camels, laughing at us.
The only thing this shit means is that it's gonna take an extra 1/2 hour too get over the Damn bridge.
What I love is;

"We are raising the terror alert, there is a high chance of terrorist attack...go about your lives like nothing is wrong."
it's a way for them to cover their asses. When 9/11 happened, noone saw it coming and once it happened, it was too late to do anything about it. Now they use color codes so that if something like that happens again, they can say "well we saw it coming this time". Unreal.

As I understand it, they decide to change these colors based largely on what they call terrorist "chatter" - in other words, they eavesdrop on these Asshole and listen to their conversations. Since the whole world knows we essentially listen to everyone and everything these days, couldn't most of this "chatter" just be bullshit? Isn't one of the reasons why we (still) haven't caught Bin Laden yet due to the fact the he and his circle no longer use phones or any other kind of communication device because of this? (he uses "messengers" and note carriers, I read that in Time or something).

Maybe it's all legit, maybe it's all bullshit - personally, I'm leaning towards it all being bullshit. Things will happen, and there really isn't much any of us can do about it.
they chatter, like chipmunks.
Alvin, Simon & Theodore are terrorists? I fuckin' KNEW it!
I think the color coordinated shirts woulda been a clue.

The FBI did, they just kept it on the dl.

The system is a pacifier. It is something to justify the existance of the Homeland Security Office. Does nobody else find it strange that we have not had even a slight attack on US soil since 9/11? Is it the alert system? I think not. al Quiada is not as well organized as originaly thought. Most terrorist wanna be's in this country like life in this country. It is not as easy to want to blow yourself up when you live here. You have food, heat, water, jobs, pussy, everything you need.
OAS is definetly a terrorist.
