It blew my mind that both the woman and Gale died in order to make a point about the death penalty because their life no longer had any other purpose. The fact that they had the cop killer in the movie doesn't surprise me, those against the death penalty will rally against anyone being put to death, and they showed things the way they really are. I also didn't think that the movie really poked fun at President Bush either, I felt it poked more fun at the legal system of Texas as a whole, because to be honest, it is a bit insane. To each his own I guess. I just thought it went too far to make a point. And there were really not that many suprises. Like I said it felt too preachy
