My Turn, My Turn, :bouncer: :bouncer: :bouncer:
Quote:I'm not the one who decided to become a moderator of said board. Who is the "super fan" who is now disappointed with his heros?

First of all, I became a mod because froy and other mods, thought enough of me to offer me the position, not because I was a super-fan of opie and anthony. By that logic I guess YOU became a writer for foundry music some time ago because you were a super-fan of OnA or FMSteve right? Being that FM was the un-official website of opie and anthony right? BTW, I prefer my heroes a little more heroic, not a bunch of guys on the radio who just talk for a living. That's not heroic, Police Officers, Firefighters and Military Men, they are heroic, not OnA

Quote:Oh I see, the board went downhill cause Jeff wasn't around to babysit it?

Like I said it was my opinion and I don't believe I said jeff had to babysit. But when you take responsibility for coding and designing of a message board and you are asked to change things by the mods and posters(i.e. A misspelled banner that was mispelled since the first day it was put up) and you ignore it because you are busy working on other "projects", lets just say that the people asking and being ignored start to not care what goes on around the board. Would you want to be part of a board where the people who run it, don't care what is going on around the board?

Quote:So unless Jeff was responsible for censorship

So let me get this straight, only the mods of oa.com and not jeff are responsible for the censorship?? How about asking shelle who was deleted by jeff for a personal reason. How about asking amy who got into fight with jeff on rf.net only to have him have his say in the matter and either, edit her posts afterwards or lock and delete the thread they were arguing in. How about asking ikeaboy, who in this very thread, stated he was edited by jeff at rf.net. How about asking our very own seph, who had his "aaliyah must die" sig deleted from his account and every post he made with it by jeff because jeff liked aaliyah and thought she was a good performer. As for me, I don't censor people and their thoughts. I don't ban people for personal reasons. I didn't like you and your different names on oa.com but I didn't ban you did I? Evenm thought I know you hated me and tried to provoke me at every turn.

All that said, I do like your idea in your post. Maybe we should get past this little thing we have and try and just deal with things. I know I really don't want to chase each other around the board like 2 scalded dogs who need to rip into each other on every opportunity. That said, I won't just sit back and see you constantly bash oa.com at every single opportunity just because you had bad experience there. The ball's in your court

I became a writer because I enjoy the show and I also enjoy writing so its a win-win for me. What exactly does one get out of being a moderator of a message board of a radio show they don't even enjoy?

Quote:lets just say that the people asking and being ignored start to not care what goes on around the board. Would you want to be part of a board where the people who run it, don't care what is going on around the board?

what the fuck does that have to do with lack of interest in the board? People are uninterested and uninspired to post because the official threads weren't made into pretty colors? Because a fucking banner was misspelled? What did you all do before Jeff was around? Why doesn't Froy get off his ass and do it himself? It is HIS board after all, isnt it?

Quote:So let me get this straight, only the mods of oa.com and not jeff are responsible for the censorship??

Jeff is as much part of the problem for the reasons you mentioned.

Quote:As for me, I don't censor people and their thoughts. I don't ban people for personal reasons.

Would you say you're in the minority there?

Quote:I didn't like you and your different names on oa.com but I didn't ban you did I? Evenm thought I know you hated me and tried to provoke me at every turn.

I don't think its possible for me to put enough emotional investment into someone who I have passing arguments on an internet message board to feel 'hate' for them. You seem to have carried some grudge against me for whatever reason, I don't even recall specific incidents with you on that board so that just goes to show you how little it impressed me.

I'll speak my mind about oa.com or whatever else I feel like on this board because thats what this place is about. You call it bashing, I call it stating an opinion you don't agree with. I may not agree with your opinion but I respect it enough to try to understand the reasoning behind it.
Quote:You call it bashing, I call it stating an opinion you don't agree with. I

Actually I call it beating a dead horse.

I tried but I still don't understand your logic. Why do I have to be a fan of oa.com to enjoy posting on the board. I don't post in threads that concern OnA, except every once in a while but that hasn't deterred my caring for the board. and if there was no more OnA anymore and there was still a board, I think I would still post, and I don't think I'm in the minority there
would anybody mind if i declare this argument over? it's getting old and i don't think anybody really cares to read it anymore. thank you, have a nice day :bouncer:

You are right who cares about O&A?

Who put the gun to your head and forced you to open this thread?

Quote:You are right who cares about O&A?

I guess i'm in the minority then. I'm actually more entertained by their radio show than the board that once was created because of them.

Quote:Actually I call it beating a dead horse.

C'mon, last time I check the other board still had a pulse. Show some respect for the place you came from. Wink
Quote:Who put the gun to your head and forced you to open this thread?
well, actually, i opened this thread to see if anything more had been added to what was at one point a pretty decent discussion. but, no, i guess that's just too much to expect, and quite frankly i'm pretty tired of seeing this petty squabbling everywhere, it's old, it's dead, get over it.

the O&A selling out/being lame discussion I'm interested in

the internal board shit, I'm not.
Keyser O&A may seem interesting. But honestly they so blow now. In the car I don't listen to them anymore. I used to turn them on ALWAYS. Now I just try music or NPR. I'll use O&A right before 92.3 as a last resort. That's pretty pitiful if you ask me. They are such sellouts. They have become everything they despised. It's so sad when you thought "hey it won't happen to O&A". But it did.

it wasn't even the "they won't sell out" it's how quickly they did that's the depressing thing. I always 'thought' that Howard would have a bigger longetivity than O&A because he came first and didn't get syndicated as quickly (syndication is death knoll) but wanted to belive that O&A could maintain but, the simple fact is, they don't.
I think the conclusion is..Capitalism killed O&A.

Yes but it's true. O&A's capitalistic greed smeared their otherwise Socialistic aims of making people laugh.
Quote:well, actually, i opened this thread to see if anything more had been added to what was at one point a pretty decent discussion.

What direction would you like it brought back into?

Quote:quite frankly i'm pretty tired of seeing this petty squabbling everywhere, it's old, it's dead, get over it.

Everywhere? I think thats an exaggeration. In fact, its pretty much been limited to this very thread and maybe 1 or 2 others.

Quote:Now I just try...NPR.

Good God, you really hate the show now, don't you, or was that just sarcasm that flew way over my head?

Dice was hilarious as usual last week. The Dice on Ice shit was great. Kevin Meeny not sure what to make of TRL&S and then deciding to abuse them after all was great. I don't know, I still find the show very entertaining. They sold out, I know they did, I just don't give a fuck. Didn't really care when Stern did either. They're just entertainers, they're not my heros.
Yes I'd rather listen to NPR than O&A.

And btw they have not been funny. Dice on Ice was somewhat good but other than that there has not been anything good. I can't sit thru a 4-hour show everyday and have 3 minutes of funnyness.
So who else here thinks Faceman and Keyser are actually buddies in real life?

Im the only one, huh? Whatever...
Is it true they go team bowling with you and Goochie?

Fucking nonsense is quoted above.

Calling a post by AM nonsense is like saying the sky is in fact blue.
