It just occured to me that when all this snow melts, the River might actually get some movement this year.
Anyone have any suggestions for the best spot? the best company?
Ummm, which "River"?
Bruce Sprinsteen had a good one.
Sorry, Delaware... it's in the title. I'm not treking out to Colorado or anything just yet.
tubin' down the delaware is fun
doez the spaceship float?
It's air-tight baby.
Waterproof.

My brother-in-law and a bunch of his friends are going in April. I was invited, but I bowed out since I don't know how to swim, and I'm more of a "sit around and smoke" kinda guy (which is what we usually do when we go camping). And now that my back is all fucked up, I don't think rafting would be the best activity for me to partake in :-(

fuuuuuck, it won't be better by April? :disappointed:
Old people heal slower than us young and virile ones
i went a few years ago. the company was "pocono whitewater". we went in june & it was a dam release day. had a great time. you pack a lunch & spend the whole day on the river. good times.
Goaty, you think rafting the Delaware is really tough work?
And the swimming thing is overrated. The water isn't that deep.
I've only been rafting, it's nice for most of the day, you float & sit & whatever. But then at the end, when it is time to return the raft, they are a bitch to paddle.
I'd really like to try a canoe
canoing iz fun two per canoe
but i'd advise southern Jersey and the Pine Barrens for canoing
haven't been there in ages but that was the place to canoe
you want calmer rivers for canoing

it should be, but my back has always been bad. I turned the trip down before I got all fucked up anyway, I'm not really a rafting kinda guy.

From what I heard, they're going in some serioulsy rough parts of the river - and the ability to swim is a requirement per the company they used to book the trip. S'ok by me, we're gonna go on another trip in the summer and fall, and it's not like I never see my brother-in-law (especially now that he lives 5 minutes away from me).
We should do a CDIH camping trip!
