A hub may be special interest(porn, movies, music, etc.) or it may be general purpose. Now once you decide what hub you want to go in it will try to connect. Sometimes they may be full or the connection just isnt being set up. A lot of hubs have mininum share requirements so you must have at least X amount of gigs before you can get in. And if you share your entire c, or system folder, they will catch on and ban you. As for your shared folder go into Settings it is an option in there.

OK, I dl'd it, connected to a hub. Now, I'm trying to "browse user's files" and nothing happens. When I try search, it just *dings* at me....Help!

You're probably behind a firewall. Switch to passive mode and try that.

it took me less than 2 minutes to figure it out. it's not like it's rocket science.
many of the hubs require X amount of gigs to be shared but there are a select few that require next to nothing. connect to those and build up your shared files then you can d/l whatever you want from practically any hub.
bah, public hubs are teh suck.
