With the tourney coming up I thought I'd throw this out for debate. What's your favorite day in sports. For me it's the first day of the NCAA tourney. Everyone is on equal ground and know what they need to do to win it all. Not to mention the excitement that builds in the crowd when a #11 or lower keeps it close or has a lead with 7 or so minutes left in the second half. Just to see the kids from lesser schools push these big tough schools to the limit is exciting and I start to get into it big time. I "mark" out, like they say in the wrestling business. So what does everyone else think and why?

Let me guess: You were either born

A: South of the Mason-Dixon Line
or
B: In New Hampshire

Where the hell is Opening day for baseball or the Beanpot finals, or hell even the baseball all-star game?

But I guess out of the choices, I'll go with the Superbowl, since it's the only one of those events that even remotely interests me.

Blasted! That was a golf event before. Either that or those people are messing with mind again
in golf it is the MASTERS not the majors.

That's what I thought it said.

"Opening day in the Masters"

Ah well, I was wrong. I take back my Superbowl vote and put all my support behind Opening day of Major league baseball.

For me it was when I hit that infield homer run in little league.

Somehow, I don't think that's what ya meant by the thread title.
I would say first (or better yet 7th) game of the world series, I'm a baseball freak so my second choice would be opening day.
My favorite days are:

The First Day of the NCAA Tournament.

Opening Day of the Baseball Season is very good because not only do you have that, but its also usually the Night of the NCAA Championship game.

I also love the First day of the NFL Season, and I feel its going to be a bit tainted with the Giants and 49ers starting off the season on a Thursday Night. I dont like that.

I also love the First day of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
1st day of NFL Playoffs and 1st day of the NCAA tourney.
:bouncer: Baseball.... :bouncer: I love baseball....as soon as the World Series ends, I usually stop paying attention to sports and patiently wait for spring training....my favorite day(s) are opening day at Yankee stadium, and Game 1 of the World Series....
Opening day in baseball by far. I love college basketball too, especially since the NBA game has gone to shit, but I just don't get those butterflies for the tourney the same way as I do for that first pitch. Especially this year, because the Mets are gonna fuckin' rock!

Superbowl is cool to get drunk and stuff, but if it's not my team in there, I usually don't care who wins. And all the commercialism is such a detriment.

I could care less about the other choices.
First day of the NCAA tourney is it for me. Whether I'm in a pick 'em pool or not.....just being able to watch 12 hours of basketball is amazing!!! Some of the games are amazing.....Valpo winning on a last second shot....the full-court pass by Scott Burrell to Tate George....Keith Sma....oh wait, fuck that son of a bitch, he cost my team the title back in '87, but you see what I'm saying.

Game 1 of the World Series runs a close second, especially if the Yankees are in it :bouncer:
