My girlfriend watches this stuff almost religiously. I can't get into it, nor do I see how this is a sport. But it may also be that I don't understand any card games other than BlackJack.

its not a sport, but its fun watching the players strategy, bluff, talk shit, flip out, etc...

The guy who won this year entered the tournament through a $40 satellite tournament online, and ended up winning 2.5 million bucks. Not a bad 5 day investment.

they constantly replay all the wsop tourneys on the travel channel. Mostly the same guys make it to the finals every year, so it can't be all luck.
no...the travel chanel has the "world poker tour" which has nothing to do with the world series...its just other big-buy in tournaments. Thats fun to watch too though.

i actually found that out by accident yesterday...i was looking up some of the players, and i came across the results. I wanted Scotty Nguyen to win. hes so gangsta

I don't watch the Travel Channel but I do watch the Discovery Wings Channel, and Boomerang.
