While reading up on flash mobs last week, I came upon a weblog that had this link in it.

This is a thread on a messageboard about how a guy stumbled upon a webcam url at a college by accident. He found himself in control of a webcam that can zoom, tilt, and pan via internet controls.

His mission: to use the webcam's motions to somehow communicate to "The Professor" to go to the website and post in the forums.

An interesting read, even got SETI involved in the discussion on how to communicate.

Not to interrupt the gay/not gay debate, but my old school, Carnegie Mellon University, has a robot that you can direct from the internet. You tell it to go to the Porter Hall coffee stand and it'll mosey along, careful not to run anyone over, showing it's view on a webcam the whole way. I don't remember the website to do it from though. Plus that was like five years ago...
