i got the dvd in the mail yesterday and just watched it. that is one fucked up movie. fucking crazy japanese
I just watched kill bill, I dunno I wasn't that impressed to be honest.

The movie is way too short, I didn't much care for the animation sequence. Nor the long drawn out sequences of silence and stillness, nor the whole hospital stuff which coulda been condensed.

The movie coulda been quicker paced and better done.

With this whole Vol 1 and Vol 2 deal, I think it falls into the category of double albums. Tarantino coulda removed some stuff, speeded up the process and combined the two films to make one great film.

Resevoir dogs was great, pulp fiction was amazing but then jackie brown kinda soured and kill bill really dissapointed in my opinion. The whole blood spraying was cool the first couple times but then it just becomes silly.

Death and killings are sometimes more spectacular and memorable when you don't see the act or as much blood. It's the suggestion of violence and your own mind concocts what happend. Like scorsese did with the opening battle in gangs of NY, or tarantino did in reservoir dogs with the ear cutting.
FINALLY saw this. Still playing in one theater locally.

I agree with almost everything Gonzo said. Seriously disappointed. Uma was completely unbelievable (as in not believable) as a master swordsman.

BTW, originally it was a single 3-hour movie, and the studio conviced Quentin to break it into two movies. He (rightfully) figured people would be pissed to pay $18 for two 85 minute movies so he added some stuff back in.
since this is back...i think the movie was great for what it was supposed to be. he wasnt trying to make a "film" like reservoir dogs was. this is a fun movie. thats all. oh and...its gonna be closer to 4 hours long.
what quickstop said
Understood, but it was originally cut as a single three hour movie.
i hadnt heard that before. i always thought it was 4 hours
It has it's cartoonish qualities, which I loved. Body parts and blood spurting is so much fun.
indeed
Look, I fuckin said it wasn't good, that should be enough reason for you.
tupac is dead
Yeah, and?
nothing...i just thought id rub it in a bit

i finally saw this on christmas eve. my grandparents had a bootleg dvd screener. i dont know how or why, but they did. i enjoyed it quite a bit.
your grandparents are uber 1337
i guess
I hadnt seen Kill Bill since the first time I saw it and was dissapointed with it. A friend of mine gave me volume 2 last week cause he got a double of it as a present for his birthday. I watched Vol. 2 and like I said I enjoyed it more than Vol. 2.

I figured i'd give vol 1. a shot again and watched them back to back last night.

I must admit it grew on me the second time around and I must take back a lot of what I said about vol 2. I still don't like the animation sequence with O-Ren but I gotta admit when you watch them together it really is a great film and I must say it really captured the essence of the old and new martial arts films, especially those chop socky classics.

I still think the coffin scene in vol. 2 is the high point of the film and is so intense, the best dialouge sequence is Bill's superman anaology, classic tarantino writing.
i have yet to see either.
