I thought 2 was a better movie. 1 was so cheesy with all the spraying blood and super long drawn out battle scenes.
The coffin scene in 2 was great.
Yeah I agree that 2 was much better than 1 but 1 wasn't as bad as I originally thought. The animated sequence was meh, the blood was waaay overdone but it was much better than I originally thought. I guess I was expecting too much from it or something different but I was pleased overall.
what makes the coffin sequence is the fact once she is in the coffin the camera never pans away from her, you never see them burying her, you only hear it from her perspective so it makes it all the more realistic to the viewer.
the end of two made the whole story a big disappointment for me. the first one gets you all pumped up & all the fight scenes in the second are great as well, then they had to go & turn it into a chick flick. it really pissed me off.
How was it dissapointing?
that the daughter lived?
I heard people complain about the fact that the fight with bill was short but there was no way she could handle bill in a fair fight, she had to pull out the ace of spades which was the five point exploding heart technique. I thought it was actually awesome cause it was the last thing bill expected along with the audience.
You didnt see that coming ??? How many times in movies have we seen the hero find out about some weapon, technique or something that is supposed to be kinda taboo to use/do....and at the end of the flik all of a sudden do it to win?? Sorry....but after all the buildup to get to Bill....the showdown at the end was a huge downer.
Oh, yeah the foreshadowing of the heart exploding teqnique was obvious that it would be used.

If you thought the fight was gonna be some long battle, you're delirious. There was no other direction to go with, the same darryl hannah could only get to pai mei by poisoning him cause she couldnt match him. There was no way that the bride coulda fought bill in a straight up fight, it was obvious that bills skill was much greater than anyone elses in the group.
I agree with you on that. Thats why he ran things and was feared. I just figured there would be more to it than that.
Did they ever show Bill do anything fighting wise? Just cuz he was the boss and the oldest, did they really make him out as a ninja?
There were no fighting scenes in the film with Bill, there was one in the deleted scenes section of the vol. 2 DVD. It was obvious he was a supreme fighter cause when he took her to see pai mei he comes back down with some bruises and it was from a friendly fight with pai mei, though we never see it. Pai Mei was the ultimate fighter and he and bill squared off.
Bill was also a student of Hatoro Hanzoi which was brought out when Uma told Hatoro why she needed a Hatoro Hanzoi sword. So Bill was taught by the best sword maker/fighter as well as by pai mei.
i was pleasently surprised at both movies. i thought kill bill was gonna be more garbage after the jackie brown fiasco. tarantino has restored his respect in my eyes.
the first scene of volume 2 in black and white with Uma driving the car was so overacted, it was painful. It really made me want to stop watching.
yeah that was completely lame, but it was overall a decent epic. it began as one long ass flick but he chopped it into two movies.
yes, i would have liked the scene with bill to be longer & i found it totally gay that her daughter lived. in my eyes, that made it a chick flick. i can watch both movies up until the fight with bill, then i will shut it off & make my own ending & not having to see her drive off with her daughter
The daughter lived so they can have a third movie in 20 years.
well hopefully that next sript will stick to the action theme instead of the gay
It could possibly have to do with that black woman's daughter going after Uma now that she's older and desires revenge for her mother's death. Or even Uma's daughter vs. the black chicks daughter...
