If the wheather in Miami is anythign like the weather in Orlando... DON'T MOVE THERE!!! 90 degree days with 100% humidity seem to be the norm in Orlando.
As for the ferry crash, it sucks. But, what do you expect when you hire such people to handle such precious cargo. Public transit drivers/pilots should be paid like athletes. Then, they might fight for their jobs and actually give a fuck. When's the last time you... oh, OJ, nevermind.

I've been to Miami several times, it is indeed hot, humid, etc. but I like that kind of weather - plus the chances of me having to ever shovel snow - outside of a freak occurrence - are nil.
The pot is really good there too, so long as you know where to get it.

Are you kidding me? The weed in FL is only a few days fresher off the boat than most of the weed in NY. And that's only if it comes from the islands. For the most part, the best weed in the northeast comes from BC. You should deal with the shit out here... either you get good stuff from grow-houses in CA or you get the schwag (that's what I said) from Mexico.

Such people? Which people? What's wrong with them?

Ten dead, 34 injured, the captain tried to off himself. Looks like the thing hit a corner of the pier. Just saw the footage of the inside on the news...amazing how not more people were killed. When I first saw it, I didn't think the wood pilings, that usually guide the ferries into dock could do that much damage. Prayers to those who died and glad to see you're ok Goat.

"They" are willing to work for a palty sum.

How do you know how much ferry captains make? How much do they make? And how rough exactly do the captains have it?
10-16-2003, 03:39 AM
All I know is that the typical well-paid and well taken care of employee doesn't crash a boat into a pier and then leave the scene. How, exactly, did this get to be about me?
10-16-2003, 03:48 AM
1) This isn't about you.
2) You stated this hypothesis that the captains of the ferry are not paid enough, thus, they crashed the ferry, and did not back it up with anything. I expressed an interest in seeing the evidence that shows the captains are not paid well. It's certainly possible, but I would think that mental instability would cause a person to crash the ferry, rather than middle class frustration toward The Man.
