Unless he was mildly amusing, or did something cool with a knife and a kitten, you should not have given him anything. Bums are leechs which offer nothing to society as a whole, and the only gain you can possibly receive is the warmth that surrounds your heart for a couple of seconds, and you can receive the same warmth from tax-deductible charities.

I no longer give money to the bums that have that "Drugs, hooker.....honesty" sign. The only thing worse than a bum is an unoriginal bum.
I never give bums money - period. They should get jobs or get dead.
