drazen's "accident" is nothing in comparison to this tragic event.
Yinka Dare...he was a freshman at THE George Washington University when my cousin was a senior there. While he served his purpose as a college center, neither one of us could understand why any NBA team would want him. He really had nothing to offer, besides the fact that he was 7 feet tall.
Of course, the Nets (as so many people expected from (what was then) an awful team) drafted him into the NBA. The only excitement he ever generated was the "when will Dare finally get an assist" pools. I think he finally got one after 2 years in the league. Actually, I'm pretty Keith Van Horn was the recipient of his first assist.
THE George Washington University hasn't been the same since.
Omo Moses was on that team.
Life after Yinka just doesn't seem worth living
