I don't think we need rules about this. I think that we can just to our part to not contribute to the problem. For example, use landscape style sigpics instead of portrait. Keep sig quotes to a minimum. Quit using listen.to (wink wink, nudge nudge), or only use listen and no sig pic.
Also, I think that if we all agree, we should lose some of the shit from the status area like I mentioned earlier. I mean hell, do we really need to see each other's rating in the status? If we remove it from there, will it still show on the user info page?
Again, I think it should be a voluntary thing, not something that's mandatory.

I don't always use a mouse with my laptop. And anyway, it still sucks to have to scroll just to see what the next person says. Is it so ridiculous to think that we should be able to see more than one post on the screen at a time?
It's not like I want everyone to cater to a 640x480 screen resolution, just make it more liveable for people that are using 1024x768. Which I bet the majority of users are viewing the site at.
i agree with kid, i'm going to clean up my sig rotation sometime this week.

fine - if you don't want anything in your status, that can be arranged. Id anyone else wants to lose the shit in their status that can also be arranged. If someone has a lot of shit and you don't like scrolling past it, feel free to ask them to remove it - if they don't want to, deal with it.
I dont think we can remove the rank and post count from JUST YOU, so if that's the case you'll have to, again, deal with it.

this is my default setting at home and at work, and I have no problems viewing the board, regardless of stauses and sigs.

As far as the shit in the status area, I was asking questions, proposing ideas... I know that some shit will effect everyone, but if nobody cares, then why not take it out. Seriously, who cares about rating being in the status area?
As far as my personal status, I'd be happy to lose the hate monger part of it, but I wanna keep the "niggapotomous" because it still makes me laugh every time I see it.

If people wanna cut their sigs down, they can do so. If people wanna remove them, they can do so. If people want their statuses reduced to nothing, that can be arranged. I don't see everyone else complaining about this "problem", but if they want to "help the cause", then by all means...
Basically, anything that can be changed on our end on a user-specific level is fair game - but when it effects the board as a whole, I'm inclined to leave it - whether or not you or anyone else cares about pot leaves/skulls/etc. (I kinda like the red skulls)
I don't think anyone is necessarily complaining, simply saying that it might be better for everyone if we tried this. I don't see why you seem to be getting all indignant about it. I mean, if nobody argues for having the rating, why should we keep it (for example). You say you like the red skulls, but would you really argue to keep them if the majority of people don't care for them?
I'm not by any means saying that my suggestions should be put into effect. I'm simply saying that people should be allowed to voice an opinion and that majority should rule, as it usually does here.
Finally, can you take the hate monger and the extra line break out of my status or do I need to submit an official request form? :p
