Anyone ever notice how in the broadcast version of The Crush, they change Darien's name to Adrienne? Why did they do that?
is this one of those Freddy Prinze Jr. movies?
No, this is one of those Cary Elwes movies.
Cary Elwes was great in The Princess Bride, and was marginally good in Robin Hood : Men In Tights.
I think he's also gay - not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.
Cmon guys, Cary Elwes is an american idol!
he was good in that movie with Morgan Freeman, Kiss the Girls I think? He's the cop with an underground harem or something.
I just don't know why they have to dub in the name Adrienne instead of Darien. Is Darien a dirty word?
In the television-edited version of "The Crush", Alicia Silverstone's character's name was "Adrienne" instead of "Darien". Through the entire movie, any mention of her name was dubbed to be "Adrienne" at the request of the real Darien's family, on whose story the original screenplay was based. Recent DVD release is the theatrical version but still features the name change of Alicia Silverstones character.

Oh, and that movie fucking sucked ass. Has VH1 done a "Where Are They Now" on Alicia Silverstone yet?
Doesn't she still have that TV show?
She looks like that bad guy with the big chin in Tango and Cash.
That movie sucked. And actually, I think Cary Elwes is English, or was born in England or something like that.
He is English, and he didn't try to hide his accent that much in the movie. I think he did a better job in Hot Shots.
