Quote:"If you had told our fans coming into the season that we'd be where we are the week before Memorial Day, I think they would have been cool with that," Mike Piazza told The New York Daily News.
Really, No shit?
wow you so totally owned piazza right there
Im still refusing to talk smack
I am pretty happy though
im not talking smack, im just enjoying the moment.

And now the Yanks own the best record in baseball, while the sox lose to AL west teams

Tampa Bay?
I love how the sox and their fans grasp to this ridiculous rivalry, it's all they have it's their whole identity.
If the sox ever do win it will be the worst thing that could possibly happen to them. Like when the mets made it to the world series and got toasted 4-1 by the yanks.
Actually, that really is not true at all. I have now lived in both cities, and the Boston papers rarely talk about the Yankees, and when they do, it's not with the level of hatred/jealousy that the NY papers contstant mock/dismiss the Sox.
The Sox fans do have that stupid "Yankees Suck" chant, which is kind of pathetic (though it is pretty funny to be sitting at a bar on a weekend and the chant just randomly erupts and flows through the bar or street or whatever)
But the press here definitely focuses on the Sox much more than the Boston press talks about the Yankees.
Wanna place another wager, we can make it like a yearly event where you buy me drinks. This year I may actually even have a drink.

Sure, you wait till they lose to talk shit. Where were you last night , bitch??
I'm not going to lie. I wasn't out having a life off the board. I sat at home and read a book. But I wasn't online and so I have an excuse.
However! I posted that Tampa Bay thing BEFORE the Yanks lost and the Sox won. So there, scumbucket.
see you in october when enrique wilson hits a home run off a pitcher who has been left in too long, to beat the sox and you can still have an identity.
your pitching needs serious support from your batters; ranked in the bottom five in avg, runs scored, on base percentage, runs batted in, and strikeouts
i completely agree. leiter, glavine and trax have been outstanding. the bullpen has been inconsistent. in a pipe dream we get beltran.
your gonna end up with more extra inning games than you want if this keeps up.
all they can do right now is try to stay in the hunt until the end of june and then hope duquette makes a big splash. reyes will help if he comes back sometime before the kerry administration ends.
Piazza sure is taking well to playing firstbase, isn't he?
