The flip flopper thing is just so stupid, that it just seems natural that a governing party would attempt to use it as an actual strategy.
Since human being began walking the earth, humans are inherent "flip-floppers." We contradict ourselves. It's intrinsic to our development and evolution on a societal scale. We believe in gods, no, we believe in one god, no, we believe in no God. We believe in creation, no, we believe in evolution. As individuals, we flip-flop as we grow older. People who start out as liberal thinkers end up as conservative voters, and vice versa. People think of one issue in one particular way, but then change their mind when that issue is put into confrontation with a larger picture of the situation. People will go with one idea for a very long time before they find reason to change that idea, and the reason we change ideas is because we become more informed as we exist on the Earth.

To say that someone is unfit to lead because they change their mind so much is like saying someone is unfit to lead because he likes people too much. To a degree, we want a leader that is willing to change their mind because they have become better informed; what we don't want is a leader who changes his mind because there's alot of money to be made on the side if he does so.

You are no longer 1337.
I agree with what Jays said, but to be more clear, I want a leader that is willing to change their mind because they have become better informed. Not someone who continues along a path to prove a point.
