They are name fighters, Gatti's been a household name as far as boxing goes for almost a decade. They are mid level fighters though, they are the type of fighters who will always be given respect cause they give their all and will be ranked in the top 10 or maybe 5 and pick up a belt somewhere down the line. But they are not top tier fighters, the moment you put ward in the ring with say a erik morales, he's done. It's what I was saying about Naseem hamed for years before Barrera destroyed him. He was a good fighter and would be a test for anyone who fought him but once he fought a top fighter he'd be done for.
Ward Gatti the first fight is a great fight in my opinion and pretty much the opinion of 99% of boxing experts, fans and boxers themselves but in the book of arpi if you liked the fight you are a know-nothing.
The second and third fights were basically one sided beatings with Gatti just outboxing ward all the way, it was like a sequel just feeding off the original. At no point in the 2nd or 3rd fight did you sense Gatti was going to lose, it wasnt as intense as the first fight.
Round 9 of the 1st fight still is just amazing to watch, it ranks with round 10 of bowe holyfield, or round 13 of lamotta robinson, etc as the greatest rounds ever.

At least De La Hoya didn't bitch and complain that his hand bothered him. He got beat and he took it like a man and didn't whine about it.
Tarver seems like he really wants to fight Hopkins. I wonder if that'll happen.

I think Roy Jones and Hopkins should fight...and have Tarver fight the winner.
