Which was the better movie?
Kneel before Superman II
I agree. Lex Luthor is cool and all, with his underground lair, but you don't see the full depth of his leacherours character until he starts trying to play both sides in Superman II.

And Christopher Reeve getting his ass kicked in an upstate diner, awesome.
The Superman curse is as foolish as the curse of the bambino.
what's the curse? Brando and Reeve just died, Reeve did have that whole paralysis thing, and Margot Kidder is taking lithium or something. That's the curse? C'mon, Terrance Stamp is still doing movies, and Ned Beatty's still yapping about squealing like a pig.
The Limey was a really good movie.

I'd have to go with Superman II. The first one was cool, but it seemed to be slow & overdone at times.
He died for a good cause.

Superman II was the best

the guy who played him in the old tv show was shot. i think the curse thing started when he got paralyzed...
George Reeves who played the old superman on TV was shot, he shot himself while still young. He was typecast for life as superman and never got real work in hollywood after the series went off the air, plus he was an alcoholic. So I guess he wanted to prove the whole faster than a speeding bullet thing was a joke and then maybe he could get some work.
Back then, wasn't it either play Superman, or play a cowboy? I think there are reasons actors get typecast, they can't branch out, don't want to, don't take as many risks, but, how was the actor's situation back in that time? Could he have been an accomplished actor, or did the circumstances just not allow him to?
Typecasting has been a curse for many actors, thats why you got many actors who gave up lucrative sequels cause they were afraid of it. Could he have been a decent actor, who knows since all he did was superman but he coudnt get a role in hollywood after that cause all people saw him as was superman.

Thats why keaton gave up on batman, sean connery gave up on Bond, chirstopher reeve no matter what he did was always superman, even though he was actually a decent actor in other films.
I remember him in Noises Off! Whoo! he was a hoot.
By the way, superman 2 all the way.

My only complaint was the slow start of part 2, the whole love thing when he gives up the powers is kinda boring and slow. The second half makes up for it though, it picks up after the diner beating he takes.
I didn't like that whole shit where he flies around the world to pick a couple of flowers, and then he stops into Pathmark to pick up the rest of the dinner.
exactly, it was really horrible.

and I dunno about everyone else but part 3 was my favorite cause margot kidder was in the film for 2 minutes, she just annoyed me.

Also the drunk superman was the best ever, especially when he comes in like a pimp on the blond chick.

oh superman theres people who need help!!!

oh thats ok, I got time, more wine?
Superman + Richard Pyror = Good times ahead
that movie was awful - poor Richard Pryor.
i loved it
