I really didn't know anything about this story before today...some guy killed his pregnant wife. I'm all over unexplained murders like Black Dahlia...a wannabe actress turned prostitute, cut in half and thrown in a ditch...that's great! And serial killers provide hours of reading material.
But some California yuppie killing his pregnant wife? Welcome to America.
WHY do people care?
I guess the unborn-child question could be a good question and the main focus, but it seems like an afterthought. So whatever...

He can’t do that when he’s paying child support, alimony and everything else,” Distaso said. “He didn’t want to be tied to this kid the rest of his life. He didn’t want to be tied to Laci for the rest of his life. So he killed her.”
I don't see the problem

I love mafia history, and stuff like that, i've read hundreds of mob books and books on sociopathic personalities, etc. Like right now I am reading a pretty good book about the westies, a bunch of insane irish gang members who basically terrorized the NY area even the mob was scared of these psychopaths.

it was just so fucking obvious that he did it, you want to see if the stupid members of the jury will realize it as well.
the best was when i was watching cnn & they were interviewing christopher darden (who looks like he ate a few of the OJ jury members) & the anchor was like "do you think they got it right this time?" he looked so uncomfortable.

I would be uncomfortable too if I was apart of team that had every possible piece of evidence available to convict someone and still managed to fuck it up.

She proceeded to hop onto the coffee table in the corner and quiver with fear as I yelled horrible obscenities at her while spitting and foaming at the mouth. I beat her about the face and body with the quilt but then she laid down and covered her little puppy head with her little puppy paws and prepared herself for death... a tear fell from my eye and I immediatly stopped beating her and walked away... in shame.this could possibly be the funniest thing ive ever read in the history of this board.
Later on though I figured whats fair is fair and I got up at night and went to the little corner she has where she sleeps on this old beach towel on some pillows and such and I peed on the towel and then I looked at her and said "now we're even".

Impossible, according to recent study by several members I am no longer funny and haven't been in a very long time. I actually must agree with them.

Quote:Born July 29, 1924, in Hyde Park, Mass., Beth Short was daughter of Phoebe and Cleo Short. They soon moved to Medford, Mass.
Her legal name was Elizabeth Short (no middle name). While a child, many called her Betty, and as she matured, she preferred to be called Beth.
In 1929, Cleo disappeared, many believing he had committed suicide, as his empty car was found near a bridge. He later sent a letter to his wife, apologizing for leaving. Phoebe refused to allow him to return.
Beth matured quickly. She grew up to become a beautiful teenager - she looked older and more sophisticated than others her age.
As a child, Beth frequently attended movies with her mother. And later, the girl's goal was to work in movies.
At age 19, Beth ventured to Vallejo, Calif., to live with her father. The stay did not last long, however. Her father asked her to leave because he said she was lazy and stayed out late.
Near Santa Barbara was Beth's next stop. It was here where she was arrested for underage drinking. After her arrest and fingerprinting, police instructed the young woman to return home to Medford.
At one time she had gone home for a visit, but Beth was determined to be in movies, and returned to Hollywood.
It was mid-January, 1947, when Beth was last seen alive at the Biltmore Hotel. It was reported that she was to meet a gentleman. After leaving the hotel, she was never again seen alive.
Her body was found, severed, in the Crenshaw District January 15, 1947.
The murder of Elizabeth Short has intrigued, mystified, even disgusted the city of Los Angeles for more than half a centruy.
Elizabeth Short, a 22-year-old wannabe actress, spent several years moving around, gaining odd jobs. Her passion for servicemen and aspiration to be famous made her a "different" woman of her time. She reportedly hooked up with a variety of men and women (one reported to having been Marilyn Monroe).
Her name evolved from her black hair and black attire. Some say she was named the Black Dahlia before her murder in January of 1947, others say the name was applied by journalists to sensationalize the crime.
On January 15, 1947, a passerby spotted her nude body in a vacant lot near Hollywood. Her body, cut in half, was bruised and beaten. Grass had reportedly been forced into her vagina, and she had reportedly been sodomized after death. Rumors of henna in her hair and BD carved into her body, as of yet to this outlet, have not been verified.
Upon the release of the murder in the press, several men and women admitted to the crime. But the police could not validate anyone's story. The case, notoriously, attracted several false confessions, and later surfaced more interest when James Ellroy wrote The Black Dahlia in 1987.
To date, according to the LAPD, the case goes unsolved. Though Janice Knowlton has authored a book naming her father as the killer, police have not reported Ms. Knowlton's statements or information as holding any water at all.

there is a metal band called the black dahlia murder
11-14-2004, 06:33 AM
Yeah I know...but they suck.
11-14-2004, 06:34 AM
yea I don't care for them but I don't like that type of music anyway
11-14-2004, 06:44 AM
They're a band from Detroit trying to do the Swedish Death Metal thing, except they're not Swedish and...well, not good. I'll give their singer some credit though, he seems pretty versatile and should have a good career ahead of him if he can find some better bandmates. Or if his band improves...they're young so I guess there is that hope.

Beth Short was a wannabe actress who fled to California to make a go of it. She had a genital defect that rendered her incapable of having standard intercourse.

Yeah she supposedly had a abnormally small vagina or was a hermaphrodite or something...the speculation was that this is what triggered the killer to...well, kill her.
11-14-2004, 07:54 AM
who could hate a small vagina!!!
11-14-2004, 08:00 AM
If it's so small you can't get your dick in there...
And I'm listening to the new Eminem, I'm on Toy Soldiers...it's not too bad so far, does it really get horrible?
