Here at work we had a customer who shafted us on a pretty expensive job. It turns out that he gave us a bogus address and home/work contact numbers. I do have 2 cell numbers that I have been able to reach him on, but you can't get addresses from them with normal searches through Superpages and the like. I have been searching the internet and of course there are thousands of sites that say they can get me an address for a fee, but those could be scams themselves. Does anyone know of a reliable reverse cell phone lookup site or already have an account with one and could help me out?
I'm pretty sure you can't do that yet. I think it won't be possible until they have 411 for cell phone numbers, which (I don't think) has started yet.
You can always just use the service and then call the service and say that you didn't mean to click the "confirm" button on the last screen before they charge your credit card (most will have a "read these terms before you allow us to charge you"). Either they'll cave and say "OK" and not charge your credit card, or they won't, and you can call your credit card company and tell them the same story, and they'll credit you.
Yeah there really isn't a way to look up cell numbers like galt said.
Did you try calling the police and filing a report, they might be able to do something with the cell number. Unless ofcourse its one of those disposables.
suck it up and learn to do a little checking before doing an expensive job for someone.
