i dont hate you, but i found a few flaws in my previous admiration for the following recent revelations:

1) you never leave your house, even though you live in the greatest city in the world. you are missing out on so much.
2) you dont appreciate black and white movies
3) you cant name a single college athlete in any sport
4) you have never played poker in person in your entire life

The last three points are completely valid. The first, however you misread. I currently work from home. I hate it. I quit my job in December. I then sat in my apartment while looking for a new job, and grew stir crazy. Now, I get a job where I will travel all the time, but ironically I'm not staffed on a consulting project yet, so they having me doing research from home, which I hate.

Therefore, I am, against my will, working from home.

whats worse, working from home or commuting to work 120 total miles each day?

yeah thats my shitty commute. 1 hour each way back and forth.

Move closer to work if the commute's too long.

I'm playing online (not wagering any money yet. Let's see how I do in the free game before I move to money.

I can tell I'd be a real bad poker player. I'm not very perceptive at all, and I have a horrible short-term memory. I'd probably be good at the odds/math of when to bet and when to fold and what not, but I couldn't possibly play against other players, and therefore couldn't be an effective bluffer.

in low limit hold em there isn't so much bluffing, its playing your cards and the odds

- Galt - 03-21-2005

- Keyser Soze - 03-21-2005

i like where i live, so therefore i will not move. i'm looking for work closer to home.

- Gooch - 03-21-2005

- Tequila - 03-21-2005

I drive 10 minutes to and from work every day. 5 miles each way. I love short commutes.

My commute when I lived out east was 65 miles each way, 78 each way when I was working in Jersey City. My commute now is 8 miles. It takes me longer to stop for cofee than it does to drive. I don't miss the commute at all. And at $2.14 a gallon for gas, I am very happy not to be driving all day.
