One, Kirk and the Jirks rock. One doesn't become that successful of a cover band w/o some popular backing.

Two, Cunt-Twat, how am I gay if I had to work an O-Town concert? I wasn't there by choice.

Quote:I actually like most covers. I too like to hear another person's interpretation of other people's songs.

isn't that exactly what i said?Undecided

Tool does an awesome cover of Zepelin's "No Quarter" on the DVD box-set. THey also cover one of their own songs in a completely different way than it was done on Aenema.

Stone Temple Pilot do an awesome cover of "Dancing Days" and Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me".

Metallica's cover of "Stone Cold Crazy" by Queen kicks ass.

Quote:Kenny Wayne Shepard Band should have been shot for even attempting Dylan's "Everything Is Broken".....what were they thinking?

I love Kenny Wayne Shepard Band, but you are right, just an awful, awful, cover.

Quote:C'mon....now...."All Along the Watchtower" done by Jimi Hendrix.... that was definitely great...no?

:bouncer: :thumbs-up:

SRV's cover of Voodoo Chile is just wrong, makes my ears hurts.Confuseduicide:

- Luna - 05-27-2002

Psssssssssst....Broken....I still like the way Dylan does it, too. :-D

Well, I never said you were perfect. :loveya:

- Galt - 05-27-2002

Dylan has said that he likes Hendrix's version of Watchtower better.

- SLASH - 05-27-2002

Garth Brooks' cover of Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love."

- Luna - 05-27-2002

great or not great? :clueless:

Quote:great or not great?

If that was directed to me... Garth Brooks sucks ass.

He had 1 good song (and video) -- "Thunder Rolls."

- LZMF1 - 05-28-2002

jane's addiction had some great covers of sympathy for the devil and a lou reed song on their 1st album

alien ant farm's cover of smooth criminal rocks!

- Zootybang - 05-28-2002

I love the band, but Disturbed did an awful cover of "Shout" by, I think, Depeche mode. It kills the mood of the CD.

- LZMF1 - 05-28-2002

uuuuuuuggghhhhhh! i fucking hate to say that i know the correct answer but that godawful song "shout" was originally recorded by a band called tears for fears.

- Zootybang - 05-28-2002

Thanks LZMF1.
And Slash, "To make you feel my love" by Garth Brooks Is a Billy Joel cover, not Dylan.

- Luna - 05-28-2002

No, Zooty...'tis not.

- Galt - 05-28-2002

Cum On Feel the Noize - Quiet Riot
Sympathy for the Devil - Guns N Roses
Take on Me - Reel Big Fish
Tangerine - Big Head Todd
Why Can't We Be Friends - Smashmouth

All Good

- Zootybang - 05-28-2002

Sorry guys. I just did a search and found the Dylan lyrics. I stand corrected.

- The Sleeper - 05-28-2002

Bad: Slayer's cover of "Filler" and "I don't wanna hear it" by Minor Threat, Rage against the Machine's cover of "Stand up" by Minor Threat, pretty much any other band covering a song by Minor Threat; Tori Amos "Smells like Teen Spirit"

Good: Earth Crisis cover of "Paint it Black" and "Holiday in Cambodia", Hendrix "Watchtower", some others that I can't think of.
