- Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 I'm polite because it is what I expect from others. How can I expect it, if I don't practice it? (again, we are talking about real life here, not shit on the boards.) - Maynard - 08-12-2002 Believe it or not. I'm A all the way. I too am uber polite. I will hold the door for people, always say god bless you, and I don't even ask if I can smoke during the meal, I wait till everyone's finished. Hell, I won't even smoke at a resteraunt if there's little kids around most of the time. I too hate most people, but the reason I do these little things is because I'd love to get the same treatment in return. These are all easy things to do, and they really require such little effort. - PollyannaFlower46 - 08-12-2002 Kid, do get mad when people aren't polite back? In my building, I usually hold the door for people, until I noticed no one was saying thank you anymore, so I remembered those people and have started pulling the door shut behind me when I see them approaching. - GonzoStyle - 08-12-2002 So you feel an obligation towards others? I just wanna see the difference between "courtesy" and "acting courtieous" - PatCooper - 08-12-2002 1 B. Move to the right to allow him/her to pass. 2 A. Hold the door and allow them to exit before you enter (But it depends on who or what it is) 3 B. Light up. (I'm in the smoking section for a reason) 4 A. Punch it and give it everything your car has got? 5 B. Mind your business. - virgingrrl - 08-12-2002 i just be nice cause i want people to be nice right back. even if it doesn't happen most of the time, atleast i know i was the better person. - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 Quote:Kid, do get mad when people aren't polite back? Not really. I'm not looking for a thank you, but it's nice to get one. - PollyannaFlower46 - 08-12-2002 Quote:Not really. I'm not looking for a thank you, but it's nice to get one. :-o I'm angrier in real life than Kid. - PatCooper - 08-12-2002 Quote:I'm angrier in real life than Kid And blacker too. - SLASH - 08-12-2002 Quote:Common courtesy, Do you have it? do you exercise it? My common courtesy can beat up your common courtesy. - Sloatsburgh - 08-12-2002 Are the people in question black or white? - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 Quote:And blacker too. obvious, but still funny. - Keyser Soze - 08-12-2002 ...and he takes it as a compliment. - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 Shouldn't I? - Keyser Soze - 08-12-2002 just be yourself - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 How do I do that? I always thought it was funny when people questioned how black I am. To answer: I'm black enough to be discriminated against, but white enough to get a corporate job. If my blackness is not sufficient for someone, that's their problem. - Keyser Soze - 08-12-2002 exactly - GonzoStyle - 08-12-2002 Afrika is like a piece of undercooked chick, not raw but not quite done either. - The Sleeper - 08-12-2002 I'm polite because I feel guilty if I'm not. I could give a shit about the people I am polite too. - Hey Ladi - 08-13-2002 Quote:I'm polite because I feel guilty if I'm not. I could give a shit about the people I am polite too. There we go, someone finally said what I was trying to get straight in my head. I'm polite because it's the way I was raised. And since I do it for me, sometimes when I have a bad day & feel the need to dick someone over.... it's still for me. |
