Because pretty much every message board out there has a hidden forum for mods, some even have one for mods and one for admins, it's because quite frankly the members don't need to know everything that goes on behind the scenes, most of the time they are just updates and shit like that, really quite boring.

I do agree sleeper, they said the site was for the members, but I'm sure there is every once in a while they may have something that needs discussion without us hijacking the threads. But then again, they could do that on AIM or PMs.

We chose at the beging to mask the forum because it was lame to have a visible forum when only the mods can read it.
Where else do you expect us to discuss processing new members, ideas for the site, etc. There is a suggestion button which none of the members use, if we tried discussing ideas out in the open the thread would be defiled in under 2 minutes. We discuss things and issues that concern the site, that concern ideas, coding, new members, and other stuff. There is really nothing of interest there.
Plus it is not a "secret" forum, we don't have any secrets there. We just need a place where we can discuss things without first of all it being defiled and second of all so we don't have to hear arpis complaints before we actually start discussing something.

You'd be suprised. Mods and Admins sometimes just need to discuss stuff amongst themselves, I know, and besides, the government doesn't let us sit in on their secret meetings now do they? We might find out about the meeting later through a press conference but we don't sit in on the actual meeting.

anything that is discussed back there and when it is finalized it is shared with you, don't give me that bullshit about how we hide shit. I don't think I can be any more honest with you than I have been in the past. I don't hide anything from the members. Except if it concerns shit that has nothing to do with the board and only with another member.
