There's a difference between laz's example and mine. I understand that there are many dumb people in the world, though not 99% like trish said but there are a lot. It's unfortunate but it's a simple fact of life, some people just don't know, some people can't read, some people can't write and some people don't care to know cause it doesn't have any impact on them directly and thats understandable.
The difference is that she didn't know what twine was and didn't pretend to know or catch an attitude about it, she simply may have never heard of it before or never had a need for it. I'm talking about people who are just so proud of being ignorant. The people who proudly say "I never read a book or a newspaper!", "I never paid attention in school", "fuck history, it's the past and who cares?", "who cares about iraq, (or whatever country) I live here!"
Naturally not everyone likes to read, not everyone likes hearing about history or religion or politics or whatever but don't be so vocal about being so void of information and being unable to join into a conversation when it goes out of your area of knowlege. That's probably my biggest complaint, he will always come in and try to change the conversation when we discuss something and try to revert it to how he got drunk last week or the escort he got last week or how he wants to go to the club this week, etc. He trully has a hatred for me when I bring up anything "intelligent" as he puts it or "smart shit", it's not smart to read a paper and see whats up beyond your backyard and the club.
