I'm not positive. My brother lives down there now (38th/1st -- and yes, Sleeper I will be living with him), so he pretty much picked the area based on his own criteria.

I think it's probably because as you go up higher you get closer to black people.

Twenty years ago when you were their age, you probably thought it was a ton of money too.

What's funny is that I will be pissing away $2k a month when I should have bought property in '99 when I was throwing everything in the market and not diversifying at all. Then I could sell my place in Boston, and buy a sweet pad in NYC and be putting my money toward equity instead of lining someone else's pockets.

Lesson Learned. At least I learned my lesson by wasting money, not wasting years of my life on a horrible marriage. Money can be recovered. So at least I have that going for me.
