I'm not going to go into my version of why this board was started. But, I can tell you that it wasn't started to be a fucking party planner for a bunch of misfits. It also was not started to be a fucking charity case.
I understand all too well that this board costs money to run, but putting a "DONATE" button is just plain sad.
This thread was not a goodbye thread at all. It was only me being me. Like I said...

Additionally, it is no surprise to me that you people assumed what I was bitching about and that I was saying the board was dying. It may be dying to me, but it's obviously not dying as a whole. What makes the "perfect board". After hearing people complain here and in that other place, I always wondered what type of board makes those of you that complain happy?

OAS, unfortunately you can never make everyone happy in this situation. This is why I was not being specific. As I said, the majority of the people here seem to enjoy the board the way it is. I do not. But, my not enjoying it is only cause for me to complain, not cause enough to change the board. ES is right, this board was intended to keep the people happy. Well, it's only too bad that we weren't more careful what we wished for when creating this board.
Again, my comments were partially in jest, and not meant to cause any action or change. Just to remind you all that I am still me. :-D

As gonzo basically said, any board gets driven by the members.
I stay out of most of the chat topics, and was hesitant to post a serious topic. when I did the other day <a target="new" href="http://www.cdih.net/cgi-bin/TheBoard/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=4522">Voting thread</a>
it got 64 responses. Not terrible for a one day topic.
You can't make the public watch PBS, and you can't make people post / reply to interesting serious topics. All you can do is post them and see what happens.
I joined here because this is where most of the intelligent thinkers of O&A.com went (let's see what response there is to that comment). There is potential here.

I know your'e being you Kid. I was just curious as to what those of you that criticize would find the perfect place. I catch shit all the time because some people think I'm too old to be here or that all I come here for is to hit on women. The people that I like here know niether is true but that I am here because I have fun, which is the case for most.
This place is by far much better than the other place, so something was done right here.

I'm not in Vegas, I'm in Jersey for a meeting. I stopped in yesterday to see how the board was coming along. I haven't read it much lately because I've been traveling quite a bit.
It's still fun to argue with you people, I see. Because you defend your board by saying that I take it too seriously.
The board is what it is, good or bad, and that's what it's going to be. I'm not going to further argue my point as you obviously can't look at my comments without considering them complaints.
