I think they gave Merkle too much shit over that play that gave him the name "Merkle's Boner". FOr god sakes, the fans swarmed the frigging feild, anyone would think the game was over. It's no different than everyone blaming Steve Jobs for grabbing the home-run ball last season. Everyone seems to forget that there was a Game Seven after that, and the cubs blew that. Instead of placing the blame on their own shitty team, they blame outside forces that "prevented" them from winnning. Fucking disgusting.
