driving a stick gives you more control over the performance of the vehicle. especially since automatic transmissions rob massive amounts of power due to their inefficiency.
stick shift is however a bit much for a lot of people. this, I think, is very sad. the reason we have laws against talking on cell phones is because people can't handle doing both. personally, I can drive my truck (it's a stick), smoke a cigarette and talk on the phone without hitting anything. Is it safe? NO, but I can do it.
The average moron on the road these days is lucky they can keep their car in their own lane, let alone manage to be in the appropriate gear.
