If she got offed, it would cause problems. - The Sleeper - 07-29-2002 What did you say? Please share - FNMoron - 07-29-2002 Quote:She's a darkie. If she got offed, it would cause problems.what's a monkey know about technology? - Galt - 07-29-2002 Well, since you asked, the discussion is about disruptive technologies and how big companies can never capitalize on technologies that turn an industry on its ear. The professor was asking for examples of companies that haven't done well, and those that have. For the large companies that haven't I brought up how HP and Compaq have handled the use of the Internet for an industry that was tailor-made to exploit it. They just stood there and watched Dell pass them by. For a company that has capitalized, I said Cisco. They don't worry about spending billions to try and come up with the next big thing, they just keep their eyes out and buy the next best thing. They look out for upstart companies whose cutting edge technology can integrate into the Cisco product. Then I said something about poop. - Arpikarhu - 07-29-2002 poop is funny - Galt - 07-29-2002 Quote:what's a monkey know about technology? Not only that, but she's also got belt marks on her droopy jungle tits - GonzoStyle - 07-29-2002 Quote:Trying to get them to drop the "stalker" tag you've been saddled with? Why does that statement drip with irony... oh yeah cause MetalFan said it. - diceisgod - 07-29-2002 I hope your instructor catches you fucking around in class one day and throws her feces at you. - OAS - 07-29-2002 Quote:The professor was asking for examples of companies that haven't done well, and those that have. Well young MBA student before you get all upity, look at the "whole" picture. Why did Dell pass them bye in market share? Remember, Dell has no manufacturing or research facilities. They buy all of their components from third parties, therefore having minimal overhead, thus forcing prices down in the market. Dell's major costs are contract labor for assembly and warranty costs. Thus, very low profit margins. And did HP and Compaq loose on this deal. No. Agilent and Compaq are one of the leading suppliers to dell for circuit board product. While Dell get's market share, Compaq, now HP make a fortune. Dell servers are designed by Compaq engineers. When Compaq research scraps a server design, they sell it to Dell. Remember young MBA, look at the whole picture. |
