- Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 Quote:I could give a shit about the people I am polite too.Sorry sleeper, I had to do it. I think the proper phrase is "I couldn't care less." But, it seems that people in the Northeast say "I could care less" more often than not. Which way is correct (in your mind)? - The Sleeper - 08-12-2002 I wrote that just to annoy you. - GonzoStyle - 08-12-2002 gots - Gooch - 08-12-2002 both work. But I could and couldn't care less. - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 Quote:I wrote that just to annoy you.Well now, of course you did. But, why didn't you vote? - Gooch - 08-12-2002 Care? - GonzoStyle - 08-12-2002 That's whack - Jack - 08-12-2002 bling bling. - The Sleeper - 08-12-2002 though they have different meanings, either one can be correct. If you use "could", that means it is possible for you to care less than you do, however that still doesn't mean you care a lot. If you say you "couldn't", that means it is not possible for you to care less, which is not true in most cases. Because there will always be things I care less about. - GonzoStyle - 08-12-2002 I could care less about this debate, I couldn't. - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 But, how is it derogatory to say, "I could care less". Whereas when you say, "I couldn't care less", it is implied that as little as you care, it would be impossible to care any less. Of course, this entire "argument" is based in semantics. I just wanted to hear some opinions. - HedCold - 08-12-2002 another poll lacking pizazz ![]() - AdolescentMasturbator - 08-12-2002 Is it just me, or has this been discussed before? - Kid Afrika - 08-12-2002 It's been discussed before, but at least it's not another thread about maynard, arpi, or ken's pen. - The Sleeper - 08-12-2002 Quote:But, how is it derogatory to say, "I could care less".It's assumed that you still don't care a lot. I don't think anyone would take that statement and put a positive connotation on it. However, you still leave the space open for other things that you do care less about. - Galt - 08-12-2002 K1d axes stupid questions - GonzoStyle - 08-12-2002 I types - FNMoron - 08-13-2002 Quote:both work. But I could and couldn't care less.i agree. - Silera - 08-13-2002 No comprendo. - kindred - 08-13-2002 Irregardless, I couldn't care less.... |
