Yeah, but if I ever get lost in the woods because I wander away from my hiking party or something and I need to build a shelter. I can listen to mp3s while I do it.

I don't see where it says that it's an mp3 player, only that it's an USB storage device.

This data can be anything, pictures, video, mp3s, etc. This data can be read by a variety of devices through a USB port.
