eh, i think considering a band emo has more to do with the lyrics then the speed of playing. they do have background screaming, and the lyrics as i said arent mushy love garbage...

If I had to choose a genre for Thursday, it would be "melodic hardcore". Because they have hardcore influences but still use melodic vocals. Kind of like Thrice, Glassjaw, etc.
