The ten commandments are the basic building block for law in any society. Its not as much as its religious value but moral value and common sense. It's not the fear of god, it's the knowlege of right and wrong. Killing, stealing, obeying your parents, etc.

But what if one does not believe in god? Why must religion or religious meanings be shoved into everything having to do with love and loyalty? I for one believe but not in the biblical sense. I do not believe GOD created the stars moon, sky, and earth in a week and that he created man the same time, etc.

I equate my belief to something Elvis once said. He was asked why he wears a crucifix and a star of david. He replied because if heaven exists I do not want to be left out on a technicality. I believe in what is in my heart to be right and wrong and do my best. Which is what we can ask of anyone. Why can't it be one loving nation or loyal nation, why under god?
