If people worshipped a rock it would not be monotheism, it would be idolism, the worship of an idol or idols.

If people belived that that rock was the embodiment of some higher power than that person would belive that rock is their god. Why do catholics worship in front of a cross with jesus on it? That is nothing more than a figure of him right? Then by that it would be an idol. Just more resons orgainized religion is a crock of shit.
