Byrd said he and his wife felt so bad for the 4-foot, 45-pound child - actually 19-year-old Bruce Jackson - they gave him a large box of cereal and Tasty Kakes, which he immediately devoured.
"The kid told me he was hungry . . . The whole time we were talking to the officers, he was stuffing cake in his mouth," Byrd said.

i felt slightly ashamed that i chuckled at this.

what is wrong with those kids in the family who were well fed who let their parents get away with this? if i was one of the other kids in the family who was 'allowed' to eat, i would have called the cops on my parents. gotta love the priest who defends them, those kids should go ransack his communion wafer collection for food.
