Tip Jar - at subway?

we have a tip jar at my subway, but rather than it going directly to our paychecks, my boss takes us to some expensive restaurant and buys us a lot of food like 4 or 5 times year. i dont really like that, and im not really sure its legal, but thats some good free food. i figure that if it went right to our checks, i would get like an extra 75 cents an hour cause the tips would get split between the 3 people working. so i work 52 hours in a month x .75 x 12 months = $468 a year in tips. 5 $30 meals = $150. so yes i am getting semi fucked....but i do get free sandwiches.

Actually, I was a waitress in a bar at Rutgers. My biggest tip ever was $13 and that was from friends. College kids have no money to tip.

i always make my friends go 20% if we have the cash on us, which is most of the time.
