Actually, I wasn't baiting you. But since this is going so well...

They weren't exactly peddling when you voluntarily walked into their store and selected the "trash" you wanted to purchase.

Now that you've explained (maybe I missed this point before) that the shoes were the same price the day you bought them, I kind of agree with you. I don't agree with how you handled the situation, but I do agree you should have gotten an even exchange.

Next time something like this happens, you should tear up the seven dollars and throw it at the clerk overhand.

Then collect your receipt and your merchandise and skip out of the store whistling.
