They may potentially lose business because of this move but it seems like the smart thing to do. The way I understand it, you pay the normal rental fee for the standard rental period, be it one day or three days, etc and you are still supposed to return it within that time period. After one week, if you haven't returned it, they charge you the price of the DVD as if it were a NEW purchase. You get ripped off right there. You pay full price for a DVD that is obviously pre-played. After that, you have 30 days or so to return it and they will refund the charge they placed on your credit card. Any more than 30 days and it is yours to keep.
