The Alanis fan list that I'm on blamed it on the release of Madonna's Greatest Hits CD, but after listening, I know its more about the lackluster sales that were anticipated from the album. The lyrics are not as well written as her previous albums and her "pain" is barely even noticeable anymore. At least on SFIJ she seemed happy and was writing about it, on this album it seems more like she was going through the motions on most songs. It's really odd how I feel though...I kinda feel like my boyfriend of a few years just broke up with me....very odd. Oh well.
