Bottom line is that we as a forum are not so much a simple message board as we are all old buddies more or less that use this board a place to keep in touch. I really enjoy coming here to speak and interact with you people that I have known since OA.com. If what I quoted is what he's saying his motivation is for leaving than I have to point out what that implies to me. He's not bored of the message board, he's bored of us.

me thinks you are taking this too pesonally, as Gonzo is extracting himself for online friendships in place of "internet" people. I like my internet friends, and some of them are reallife friends, but I personally owe nobody anything....

if Gonzo left the bar you hang out at b/c he's bored of the place...should those "friends" think he is bored of them..or do those friends carry-over to reallife enough to be more than a bar. Maybe its a fundemental truth that lies under his statement...that you, or I, are just internet people...personalities online, that simply cannot take the place of real people in everyday life. Moreover, if he chooses to leave the bar, and nobdy talks to him again, isn't that simply prove the reality of what it was in the first place?

People leave boards all the time. Its up to you to decide if you are friends outside the board and remain in touch. I read Gonzo's myspace bulletin. Have you? If you haven't, you will miss his desire to interact and be friend with REAL people in his everday life.

Eddie is a great guy, a brilliant poster, and simply is moving on...maybe for now, maybe forever, but he's not leaving you. Maybe he left this board, but if you choose not to interact with him in other avenues...in a ironic turnaround, you will have left him.
