Goatweed Wrote:Before I stopped I had limited myself to only smoking outside only.... I could smoke 3 packs a day easy just sitting here at the pc!!! My lungs couldn't handle it anymore and believe it or not, but those commercials "every cigarette is doing you damage" started giving me panic attacks. I started to see myself hooked up to an oxygen machine and shit... I scared myself into quitting and I'm glad I did.Luna Wrote:Goatweed Wrote:I quit for a week, my first time, in the summer of 2005. nope, I quit those on Oct 1, 2004 and havent had one since. Cold turkey, baby!
Then I quit 10 months ago the day after my birthday. I used the patch (which really worked for me and made me have the weirdest dreams ever) for about 2 days and I haven't smoked since. I don't miss it and after I finally conquered it I couldn't figure out why the hell I did that to myself all those years.
I was pretty much gonna quit anyway, it wasnt giving me the buzz it used to and the $$ was getting ridiculous. I went camping that weekend and smoked 3 packs in 2 days to get it all out of my system, and I made sure that I didnt have any left when I got home. I've had a handful of times where I thought I'd just "have one", etc but I refused to give in to it and havent touched one since.
yeah, when I was younger smoking was great and I thought I could smoke forever, but the older you get the worse it gets. Now I can breathe and excersize without feeling like I'm going to pass out and I can breathe in the morning... I notice this when I right when I wake up. I also don't smell like an old ashtray, which I like.
