bowie is probrobly one of the most influential artists of the past 30 years. the doors are far more overrated, and definitely lost some luster by going back on tour with a morrison impressionist.

you saw this as enough of a winner to post?
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

give me a break with bowie.... and the doors jokes. they're both overrated. both good but both overrated.
for instance. look at the body of work the stones have put out.
bowie isn't in their league but many think he is.
that's the level i'm talking about when i say he's overrated.
i'm not saying his work sucks. it doesn't. but he's not as influential as the zepplin's, stones, reo speedwagons or even beatles.
REO Speedwagon was nice, but a bit over the top,
should have said someone a bit more believable like Journey if you wanted to really get someone steamed up.
bowie was influenced by the stones, the who, the beatles, dylan....and then in turn he influenced roxy music, the cure, talking heads, joy division, nine inch nails, U2, etc.... he's crossed into so many genres with ease and defies explanation. there are few artists that have been as experimentally successful (such as those he was influenced by), so if you want to say he's not on their level cause he's their descendent, fine, but he's proved to be just as dynamic.
