putting money in a savings account is retarded.
You can put it in a money market which will pay 3x the interest and is still easily accessable. If Arpi actually had money, he'd realize this.

have you looked at interest rates on money market accounts? i have plenty of money in 2 of them and they are earning shit right now. you obviously know nothing about it. thats why all my big money is being used to buy low p/e stocks right now.
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

I used to have a Christmas Money account where I would put in $5 a week. And then 2 weeks before Christmas I would withdrawl and have like 300 bucks. :thumbs-up:

i think what we have proven here today is that despite all of his classes,Galt doesnt know shit about how to read the rates page of the financial section of a newspaper, doesnt have a money market account, and doesnt understand the connection between the fed dropping the prime rate and interest rates on consumer bank accounts.

The fact still remains that no matter how much you want to whine, money markets pay better interest than savings accounts.
There's no need to have that much money in a savings account. The only money I have in my savings account is just so I can go to the ATM. When it starts to get low, I just write a check against my money market, and I'm all set.

I'm pretty sure I have most of my money in a money market account. I think it was pretty much assumed when i said savings I meant all the money you keep in the bank. You are all a bunch of nit-pickers
