It is postively disgusting to put your shitty toilet paper in the trash. I think that this idea about not flushing paper stems from a long time ago when there wasn't much engineering in toilet paper. Most toilet paper today is designed to be friendly to your pipes, and the less plush brands are also designed to be easier on your septic system. Bottom line, don't flush "sanitary napkins", but DO flush your asswipes.
