the metropolitan areas tend to have more people, so of course there'll be more crime, but per capita crime rates in nyc for example have been dropping. what you seem to be ignoring is the fact that these metro areas also tend to have more colleges. look at florida, mostly went for bush, except in broward, dade and west palm where most of the businesses are and then there's gainesville and tallahassee, where people are going to college and educating themselves.

Oh my God. How is someone supposed to respond to that? You claim all these statistics as proof of your point, it's proved that you are completely wrong in everything you say, and your response is "well statistics can be manipulated"?

That's it? You are 100% wrong. Not even debatable. You don't think to reevaluate your opinion, or assumptions? You just dismiss the statistics you that cited as your reason?

...and yes, I do use some statistics but if you read my last comment you'll see I clearly explained one can find statistics to prove anyone's point, including mine.

statistics are not completely worthless. they dont tell the whole truth but they are very useful especially when you use an appropriate sample size.

Some bitterly partisan sources are not above fudging numbers for either side.
