ok, so i'm trying to figure out how many shots are in an actual fifth. i always assumed it was a fifth of a liter, which is 200ml, however, 12 oz is about 330 ml, so a fifth is only actually about 7.5 oz, which doesn't really seem like much at all. that would mean you only get about 5 drinks out of a fifth, which means he hasn't really drank all that much, for a big guy. but i woulda thought a fifth was a little more than that. but it's been a long time since i bought a bottle that small...

so, my question is, how much is a fifth? i can't seem to find an answer, if it is only 200mls, then i'm not surprised he's not really drunk, although he probably would feel it after a while, but if it was only after 2 hours it probably just hadn't hit him yet.

A fifth is 750 ml. 750 ml is approximately 1/5 gallon, which is why it's called a 'fifth'. A shot is 1 1/2 ounces, so there are about 17 shots in a fifth (750 ml = about 25.5 oz).

So Jack took about 25 shots, give or take.
