only cause he never performed in Rent, groupie!! :-p
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

Why? Because every underground legend gets signed by a big hyped up producer or rapper? How come Sage Francis, El-P, Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Dalek, Mr. Lif, etc. haven't been snagged up by Dr. Dre?

No, but they all get signed, those who don't usually don't get signed by choice.

Well for one, none of those would really mesh well with Dre's style, why do you think Dre spent something like 6-7 years before coming out with an act? He was waiting for the right one.
And frankly anyone who thinks of Master P as their hero doesn't deserve a contract.
Tribe Called Quest would not fit in at Shady records, their sounds are different.
Shady Records should continue to do what they've been doing, sign people who not only have the talent but will fit in with their sound rather than sign just the hottest acts out there.
Are you saying the hype around 50 was not justified? Sure it went a little over the top but I don't think it was unwarranted, he was a legend in NYC, he's been working towards this for many years, he was trained by Jam Master Jay for christ's sake, what else does he have to do to justify the hype he recieved?
I may not like a lot of artists, but I can respect their talent or impact on the music industry. I can't stand the Beatles but I respect them as rock innovators. I'm not into the Clash's music but I respect them as one of the founders of punk. I don't see 50 cent having much impact on hip hop, and I think he'll fade out pretty quickly. That is my point.
He may not have been Run DMC, but whatever impact he has is greater than anything 50 cent will ever accomplish. Of course this is all just speculation and personal opinion now. I think I've filled my rap comment quota for at least the next year.
